Sinharaja

This was a self initiated project where I designed and illustrated a book cover for Sinharaja – A Rain forest in Sri Lanka by Neela de Zoysa and Ryhana Raheem .

I chose to depict some of the endemic animal species mentioned in the book to highlight the rainforest’s unique biodiversity, including the Purple-faced Leaf Monkey, the Sri Lankan Blue Magpie, the Hump nose Lizard, the Greater Hourglass Tree frog, and the Blue Oakleaf Butterfly. I used a combination of watercolour, gouache and coloured pencil before refining and adding finishing touches in Procreate.
