Ommatidia

Ommatidia: hexagonal units which form the surface of an insect’s compound eye.

Sparked by my fascination with life on a microscopic scale, ‘Ommatidia’ was a reimagining of the natural world through the eyes of insects, literally. I drew from my research into their unique vision, incorporating colours inspired by the ultraviolet spectrum and experimenting with perspective and composition.
